There are many ways that you can help stop the spread of invasive weeds in your area. Whether you’re a resident, a property manager, an educator, or someone looking for volunteer opportunities, there’s a way for you to take part in protecting native plants and habitats.
- REMOVE - Check local invasive species resources and remove any offenders you find on your property – disposing of them properly so they can’t propagate.
- VOLUNTEER - There are many ongoing opportunities to take part in weed pulls in your area. Check our partners’ websites for event schedules, or take the Weed Watchers training coming up at Metro on May 20th and 21st, 2011.
- EDUCATE - Letting people know which species are harmful is half the battle – share our fact sheets and other resources with friends, students, and neighbors.
